While driving near a local college, I happened to look out the window, and what did I see? A giant heart with a knitted cozy. I quickly snapped a picture before we drove away.Apparently, this is all part of a local art installation, and at one point, there were other hearts on display throughout the city. This particular one was created by artist Adele Louise Shaw. She knit the cozy out of polypropylene rope using hardwood handrails from a construction site.
According to Ms. Shaw's website, she is designing and knitting seasonal cozies so the heart can be well-dressed year round. At one point, the heart even wore a knitted bra, which was stolen. Wouldn't you love to know what they are doing with that?
