I did finish my Evangeline mitts, using the Misti Alpaca yarn. I should have photos soon. I just need a second pair of hands. In the meantime, I'm about to start a new project with some new yarn.
My husband's best friend is about to have a baby (well his wife is), so I'm going to knit a little sweater. I really wasn't sure what yarn to use, and I had a hard time finding anything cute but non-pastel, so this is what I came up with. A striped sweater in Araucania Nature Cotton.
It's going to be a boy, and they live in Florida... hence the cotton. I'm planning to knit the 9-12 month size, so hopefully he can get a little more use out of it. My one concern is that the yarn is hand wash only--it seems a little high maintenance for a baby, but all the superwash yarn I saw was pretty blah. (Speaking of which, I saw the cutest baby bell bottoms today, knit in Koigu.)
I had originally planned a blanket, but I'm not sure when that would ever get finished considering the long line of previously mentioned UFOs. After this it's back to working on those--I swear!

Fun! I need to upgrade, too. I was planning on it but wanted to make sure I had 10 good shots for my free MOOS. :)
hi there, I just wanted to let you know I visited your blog. Loved looking at all the beautiful knits you've made. I did monkey socks too and loved the pattern. I want to do another pair but maybe try it with all knit stitches like I've read about!

the colors for the baby sweater are fantastic.
